We invite you to visit our self catering cottage ideally situated for you to enjoy the ageless beauty of nature and simple delights of a seaside cottage.

There are few places anywhere that offer such peace and serenity within a short distance of gourmet restaurants, lively pubs, wonderful scenery and wildlife.

The Cottage, nestled into the side of the hill overlooking Garrannafeen beach sand dunes and horseshoe-shaped bay which looks out on Courtmacsherry Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.

The original house was a ‘bothan’ or fisherman’s cottage and was built over 150 years ago. Traditionally made from local stone and mortar with blue bangor slates, wooden handcrafted windows and walls covered in whitewash lime.

There is a lovely ambiance in this light filled, charmingly decorated seaside cottage. This house has been in the same family for over 75 years. In 2001 it was fully and sympathetically restored and renovated.

This house is literally a stones throw from the beach. Garrannafeen beach is a wide strand with a long shallow tidal base which allows a large expanse of sand to walk, paddle, swim and collect shells. A real bucket and spade beach!

There are also hundreds of rock pools for crab, shrimp and other surprises for children to discover and spend hours enjoying the wonders of nature.

The beach is edged by sand dunes and at the back of which is a salty marsh area that is a treasure for wildlife and home to several species of wild birds.

We are located on the scenic coast route R600 midway between the wonderful bustling cosmopolitan marina town of Kinsale and the traditional colourful and market town of Clonakilty. This route is part of the southern leg of the Wild Atlantic Way which is the world’s longest coastal touring route.
